Fuel supply

Fuel supply is critical to the reliable and efficient operation of any biomass system. It is important that the fuel properties are accurately known and available to the purchaser, and that these properties are appropriate for the energy conversion system to be used.

Many private individuals and companies have access to the raw materials to produce biomass fuels as well and consume them. Again, during fuel production practical considerations include ensuring that the fuel is compatible with the intended market and that a suitable infrastructure is in place to move, store and distribute the fuel once it has been processed. This section highlights these issues and provides advice on standards that biomass producers, suppliers, installers and users should be aware of.
